Following a call for proposals launched by the City of Drummondville, Construgep was selected to define a private project in compliance with the municipality’s vision and development guidelines. BC2 was mandated to design this eco-district and support the client during the regulatory amendment process necessary for its approval.

The Fortissimo project transforms one of Drummondville’s first industrial sites into an eco-district incorporating best practices in sustainable development. The site, covering over one million square feet, will offer large parks and diverse public spaces for Drummondville residents and the new occupants of the 850 units planned. This major project, located in the heart of downtown, aims to promote the area’s economic and social development, while incorporating measures to protect and conserve natural resources.

The spatial development concept integrates flagship elements. They include the establishment of a blue corridor running through the entire site and providing access to the Saint-François River, the enhancement of heritage elements, and the creation of active links connecting the seniors’ residence to the new parks and green spaces. Additionally, the modulation of building scales and the planned landscaping highlight important project components — such as the site’s gateway and the heritage building — while creating living spaces well integrated into the neighbourhood.
