The development of a new downtown; an attractive and prosperous place that values Repentigny’s assets, while strengthening its identity and regional appeal. As developed, the concept enables the transformation of this first-generation industrial park into a dynamic and integrated urban hub, skillfully blending value-added industry with residential, commercial, and service spaces.
BC2 was mandated to develop the Special Urban Planning Program for Repentigny’s new downtown, an ambitious initiative designed to revitalize the city’s industrial core. Located south of Highway 40 and bordered by major corridors, the district was designated a strategic redevelopment zone, a purposeful choice to address contemporary challenges of urban planning and sustainable economic development.
This initiative is part of an in-depth effort to reinvent the city’s urban and economic fabric, taking into account best practices and current trends. This approach is based on a collaborative process that relies on the active participation of experts, stakeholders, and citizen engagement to shape a development concept aligned with collective aspirations.
